Populonia is located a panoramic position on top of a promontory surrounded by the sea. From the town you can enjoy a wonderful view over the whole Gulf of Baratti and on Piombino arriving to see even the Elba Island.

Famous for its archaeological etruscan findings, Populonia is even an appreciated summer destination. On its territory came back to light some etruscan necropolis that today you can visit inside the Archaeological Park. Deserves a visit even the Rocca, the fortress that dominates the historical centre overlooking the sea: it is a really suggestive place, rich of history.

Just beneath the town, bathed by the crystal clear sea of the Etruscans Coast, extends the long beach of the gulf. It is separated from the street by a dense stretch of mediterranean vegetation: the grass arrives almost on the sand.
